Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical specialty of dentistry which involves the diagnosis, surgical management and treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving the hard and soft tissues of the oral and surrounding regions.
Oral and Maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Gavert’s training involved medical service rotations in General Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Unit, E.N.T., Oral Medicine & Pathology, General Surgery, and Internal Medicine.
